Trash-2-Art
Trash to Treasure held its first annual art competition and exhibit designed to spread the word about the importance of reducing consumption and reusing materials. “Trash-2-Art” encourages people to use waste materials in new ways and this exhibition inspires all of us to think more creatively about new uses for what we have labeled ‘trash.’
The ‘Trash-2-Art’ exhibit was held on October 29-November 10, 2007 at ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale and the inaugural show included over 40 entries. The opening reception drew over 300 people, and included entertainment by Trash to Treasure volunteer Laura Sue Wilansky, the Silver Nightingale.
